Pinellas County, Florida -- Thinking of adopting a pet sometime soon? In August, Pinellas County Animal Services will be celebrating all month by offering reduced adoption costs for both dogs and cats. 

During the month of August, $5 rabies vaccinations with the purchase of a license will be available for pets each Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. The adoption fee will be reduced to $25. 

45th annual Dine Out Day benefits youth programs

Pinellas County, Florida -- On Wednesday, May 15, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office -- along with the Pinellas County Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association -- is holding their 45th Annual Dine-Out Day.

During the fundraiser to benefit Pinellas Sheriff's youth programs, participating restaurants will accept Dine-Out Dollars in lieu of cash for meal payment and donate $2.50 for every $5.00 spent.

Hilton hosts "Haven" fundraiser tonight

Clearwater Beach, Florida - The Clearwater Beach Hilton is hosting a fundraiser tonight, May 14th, to benefit a new outreach center for The haven of Religious Community Services in Pinellas County.

The center will support survivors of domestic violence.

City council receives Aquarium referendum language

Clearwater, Florida - The city council has put off until June 3rd consideration of specific language for a referendum on leasing city land for a new Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

The proposed language was discussed at Monday's work session but action on it was differed to allow council members time to study it and recommend any changes.

Pinellas County Animal Services close on May 21

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Pinellas County Animal Services will be closed on Tuesday, May 21 for in-service day. 

This will affect the Pinellas County Animal Services located at 12450 Ulmerton Road in largo.

Regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will resume on May 22.
