Pinellas County, Florida -- Time is running out to sign up for Viva Las Chicas 2nd annual bike ride Pedaling for Pink on March 2 to help raise money to help Tampa Bay families affected by a cancer diagnosis.

The one-day ride through Pinellas County will include a 5-mile, 32-mile, and a 64-mile route.

The bicycling event is designed for families and diehard riders alike, with something for everyone. It is a day to celebrate life with loved ones, friends, and hopefully, new acquaintances!

Clearwater Beach, Florida -- Expect temporary road closures Sunday during the 2013 Clearwater Marathon/Halfathon.

Between 7 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., police will be shutting down lanes of traffic to accommodate runners in the Marathon and the 5K Fitness Walk, 5 Miler and Halathon race.

Allowing for extra travel time is being recommended if you drive on Sand Key, Clearwater Beach, Memorial Causeway, Island Estates and the Harbor Oaks neighborhoods.

Clearwater Beach, Florida -- A beach walk to support the RCS has been scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 19.

Registration is at 7:30 a.m. at the Palm Pavilion. The walk begins at 8:30 a.m. and extends on the beach to the Surf Style store, then north along the Beach Walk and ending at Chapel-By-The-Sea.

A pancake breakfast and silent auction follows at the Island Way Grill.

Registration is $25 on day of the event or $20 with a food donation; children are $10, under 6 no charge prior to the event.

Largo, Florida -- Gulf Coast Giving is holding their annual Upgrade 2 Success 5K - 1-mile Run/Walk Easter Hop to help raise money for Pinellas County Schools and registration is now open!

The event features a family fun morning packed with great race perks including a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny & Easter egg hunt.  Race perks also include race T-shirt, music, food, water stations, silent auction, raffle by bib number, giveaways, finisher medals and arts & crafts for the kids.

Clearwater, Florida -- New mariners in need of a boating safety course and old pros who want a refresher can sign up for a two-day program offered next month in Clearwater.

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 11-1 will hold an "About Boating Safety" course Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 12 and 13. It begins promptly at 8 a.m. at the downtown Clearwater Police Headquarters, 645 Pierce Street.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., teams, marching bands and cheerleaders will take to the beach by Pier 60 and the Clearwater Beach Hilton for a day of music, skydiving, tug of war and other contests.

Clearwater, Florida -- Sunday morning drivers will see temporary road closures on the beach and mainland during the LandRover TriiRock Clearwater Triathlon.

The city says all traffic attempting to access the roundabout from South Clearwater Beach to travel east on the Memorial Causeway, will need to use the Belleair Causeway.

The event starts around 7 a.m. with a swim at at Pier 60 and is followed by running and bicycling across the causeway, to the city's west side, then back toward downtown, south to the Belleair Bridge and north on Gulf Boulevard, back to Pier 60.
